Rodent Control in Dunleath
Dunleath is a neighbourhood in the middle of a long restoration, and that creates a rodent situation you do not get in settled housing. A house under renovation has open wall cavities, lifted floorboards, exposed ceiling voids and materials stacked in the yard — and it frequently sits in that state through an entire winter.
On a restoration running eighteen months, Rodent Control Greensboro seals the envelope in stages instead of waiting for completion and closing the building around an established population.
For a rat or a mouse a partially-opened building is considerably more attractive than a finished one. The cavities are accessible, the disturbance is intermittent rather than constant, and there is often stored material to nest in.
Sealing While Work Continues
The instinct is to deal with rodents once the building work is finished. On a project running eighteen months that means eighteen months of colonisation, and by completion the population is established inside the structure that has just been closed up around it.
We work progressively instead, sealing the envelope in stages as each area reaches a point where it can be closed, and monitoring the parts that are still open. It takes coordination with whoever is running the build, and it is far cheaper than discovering the problem after the plaster is on.
Working Around a Restoration
These projects exist to save original fabric, so exclusion has to be done without cutting into material the owner is trying to preserve. Where a sound modern fixing is not available we say so and propose an alternative, rather than putting a fastener through something that cannot be replaced.
